Norman A. German, 86, son of Albert and Laura German, was born Aug. 3, 1917, at Hartshorn. He died Jan. 13, 2004, at St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield. Mr. German was a Seabee boatsman mate for 18 months in the Pacific during World War II. He married Ruby McDonald Grogan Nov. 28, 1980. He was a member of the Assembly of God at Hartshorn. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Evert; and one sister, Pauline. Surviving are his wife of the home; two sons, Gary Wayne German of Florence, Ala., and Harold Dean German of Hartshorn; two sisters, Wanda Barton of Hartshorn and Wilma Wilcox of Potosi; three stepsons, Lonnie Grogan of Cabool, Eric Grogan of Mountain Grove and Rodney Grogan of Mansfield; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Services were Jan. 16 at the Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home Chapel in Cabool with the Rev. Gandy Risner officiating. Burial was in the Cabool Cemetery. “
