Ruby Jewell Francis Baker, 79, daughter of Oscar and Amy Murr Baney, was born July 25, 1924, at Bendavis. She died Jan. 31, 2004, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She attended Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed watching the early church programs on TV on Sunday mornings. She loved gardening, tending her flowers, doing circle puzzles and taking care of her cats and dog. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 54 years, Carl Baker, April 1, 2002. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Newberry of Lebanon; son, Ralph Baker of Bucyrus; three brothers, Bud Baney of Fort Madison, Iowa, Sterlin Baney of Mountain Grove and Brodie of Arizona; two grandsons; four great-grandsons and her caregiver, Marion Bittle. Services were Feb. 3 at the Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jr. Hutsell officiating. Burial was in the Hickory Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. “
