Tyrus Ernst Cromer, 85, son of George E. Cromer and Nellie Wilma Isgrig, was born July 19, 1918, at Newburg. He died Jan. 17, 2004. While attending Southwest Missouri State Teachers’ College in Springfield, he met and married Norma Louise Coyle Oct. 6, 1940. They moved to Kansas City in 1942 and had one son. Mr. Cromer was a motion picture projectionist at many of the older theaters in the greater Kansas City area and the Nelson Art Gallery. In recent years, he and his wife volunteered many hours, especially at the Baptist Medical Center. He was a long-time member of the Roanoke Baptist Church and for the last few years, the Armour Heights Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife and son, Tyrus Coyle Cromer. Services were Jan. 21 at the Floral Hills Chapel with burial in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in the Kansas City area. “
