Edna Elizabeth Brannam, 83, daughter of John and Mary Beasley, was born Dec. 30, 1920, at Raymondville. She died Feb. 8, 2004, at Houston House, where she had been a resident since 1995. She married James Virgil Brannam Sept. 1, 1939. They had three children. Mrs. Brannam was a housewife, mother and worked with her husband cutting wood. She loved working in the garden with her husband. She was saved at an early age and was a member of Brown Hill Baptist Church for many years. She was a member of the Ozark Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years; six brothers, Radius, Tom and Ernie Beasley and three infants, Henry, Garland and Herschel; and two sisters, Elva Patterson and Ella Martin. Surviving are her children, Maggie Smith of Solo, James Leroy Brannam of Success and Marie Stark of Rolla; one sister, Vida Jones Copeland of Licking; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren. Services were Feb. 11 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace and the Rev. Ed Hamilton officiating. Burial was in the Central Baptist Cemetery. “
