Norma Jean Skyles, 73, the only child of Earl and Nora Moyer, was born Feb. 16, 1931, in Springfield, Ill. She died Feb. 17, 2004, at her home at Cabool. She moved to Missouri, and after studying at the Bible college, she met and married Alva Jr. Skyles of Cabool June 9, 1956. They had a daughter. The Skyles raised pigs, milked cows and worked on the farm near Cabool. Mrs. Skyles worked for the juvenile office at the Texas County Courthouse. She later worked for the judges in the circuit clerk’s office and was a dispatcher for the Cabool Police Dept. After a car accident, she was forced to retire due to a disability but still helped out when she could. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in 2002. Surviving are her daughter, Priscilla Norean Skyles of Cabool; and two granddaughters. Services were Feb. 20 at the Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eldon Coffman officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. “
