Eugene “”Jean”” E. Beasley, 79, daughter of George and Lelah Branson, was born July 24, 1924, at Raymondville. She died March 6, 2004 in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Beasley worked in the shoe business in Rolla for many years of which she managed Tweedies Shoe Store. During World War II she was an ammunition line supervisor in St. Louis. Before permanently settling in Rolla in 1967, she lived in many states including Washington, D.C., while her husband was an engineer in the oil fields and for the U.S. Geological Survey/U.S. Department of Interior. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don Beasley, who retired from the USGS in Rolla; two brothers, Herman and Roy Branson; and a sister, Irvie McBee. Surviving are three sons, Keith Beasley of Empire, La., Les Beasley of Flower Mound, Texas, and Kevin Beasley of Fayetteville, Ark.; three sisters, Iva Camp, Wilma Hull and Faye Beasley; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services are 10:30 Saturday at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery at Raymondivlle. Visitation is 6 to 8 o’clock Friday evening at the James and Gahr chapel. “
