Norma Jean Ware Ray, 71, daughter of Clyde and Evelyn Kellogg Ware, was born Feb. 13, 1933, at Licking. She died March 5, 2004, at the Lester E. Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. She graduated from Licking High School. She married Bill Frank Ray June 10, 1953. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. Mrs. Ray retired from Intercounty Electric after 40 years as a data entry operator. She loved working in the yard and taking care of her flowers. She looked forward to Friday and Saturday nights, joining her friends in a game of dominoes. She lived in the Licking area all of her life. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School as long as her health permitted. She was a member of the Wesleyan Service Guild, a charter member of the Fidelis Club and member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her father. Surviving are her husband of the home; one daughter, Terry Dawson of Licking; her mother of Houston; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Services were March 8 at the United Methodist Church in Licking with the Rev. Gary Carter officiating. Burial was in the Licking Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston. “
