Richard Delbert Braswell, 62, son of Barney D. Braswell and Bernice Whitten Braswell, was born May 31, 1941, at Alton. He died March 17, 2004, at Ozarks Medical Center at West Plains. He married Sue White Dec. 29, 1974, at Alton. Mr. Braswell served in the military during the Vietnam era. He was a clerk typist at the Pentagon from Dec. 6, 1963, until Dec. 3, 1965. He was a farmer and rural mail carrier for many years and enjoyed arrowhead hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of the home at Alton; one daughter, Jessica Braswell of Springfield; one son, Jeffrey Braswell of Alton; one sister, Catherine Wallace of Houston; and a special great-nephew, Brady Howell. Graveside services with the Rev. Junior Andrews officiating were March 20 at the Hickory Grove Cemetery at Alton under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer. “
