Rodney Clarence Christ, 38, son of George C. Christ, was born Jan. 8, 1966, at Belleville, Ill. He died March 24, 2004, near Cabool. He worked for his father in his cabinet shop near Cabool and at Cabool Tire before joining the Navy. After his discharge, he returned to Cabool and worked for L & R Industries. He moved back to Illinois and worked for General Machine. For a short time, he was a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Christ. Surviving are his wife, Lisa Marie Christ of the home; sons, Roger Christ of Cabool, B.J. Owens and Kayne Pitts of the home; daughters, Shiloh Christ of Cabool and Amanda Layton of Houston; his father and Amy Christ of Cabool; sisters, Rhonda Kennedy of Steelville, Stephanie Travis of Illinois and Tracy Miller of Salem; brothers, Shawn Christ of Long Lane and Jeff Christ and Phillip Christ of Salem; Granny Ruth of Houston; and two grandchildren. The body was cremated under the direction of Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home of Cabool. Memorial services will be at a later date. “
