Arnall Edwin Layton, 82, son of Martin and Leona Shipp Layton, was born June 1, 1921, at Harrisburg, Pa. He died April 8, 2004, at Crooked River Ranch, Ore. He was a graduate of Licking High School. Mr. Layton was a radio operator for the Coast Guard during World War II. After the war, he was a radio operator on tuna boats. He was an electrician for IBEW Local 441, retiring in 1983. He married Daisy Krewson March 31, 1942, at San Diego, Calif. They lived at Garden Grove, Calif., for more than 20 years. He enjoyed fixing things and was interested in navigation and radios. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson. Surviving are his wife of the home; four sons, Gary of Silverton, Ore., Terry of Redmond, Ore., and Timothy and Jim of Crooked River Ranch, Ore.; a daughter, Carolyn Ponsford of Madras, Ore.; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Services were April 13 at Bel-Air Colonial Chapel in Madras, Ore. “
