Gladys Rosa Cobble, 57, daughter of Arthur Cross and Rosetta Kinserlow Cross, was born Oct. 1, 1946, at Pine Flat. She died April 12, 2004, at Hartshorn. She married Hobert Cobble. They had five children. Mrs. Cobble worked at several area factories: the Lee Co., Brown Shoe, Salem Sports and Bay Creek Manufacturing. She loved animals, being outside in the summer months with her flowers and time with her grandchildren. She attended Faith in the Word Church at Summersville. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Udell, Eugene and Carl. Surviving are her children, Janet Buxbaum of Licking, Roseann Robertson, Toby Cobble and Steve Cobble of Summersville and Peggy Schulz of Hartshorn; brothers and sisters, Mary Smith of Mexico, Mo., John Cross of Summersville, Letha Dean of Salem and Edward Cross of Rolla; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Services were April 15 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Atchison officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery at Hartshorn. “
