Everett Lee Hollibaugh Sr., 85, son of Daniel and Mary Faust Hollibaugh, was born Sept. 2, 1918. He died June 15, 2004, at the Kabul Nursing Home. Mr. Hollibaugh lived most of his life in the Pomona/West Plains area. After his father died, he moved to Willow Springs to care for his mother until her death. He married Ruth Johnson. They had four children. Mr. Hollibaugh entered the Navy Nov. 28, 1941, serving aboard the USS Missouri during World War II. He was discharged Nov. 11, 1945, with the rank of first class petty officer metal smith. He worked several years at Rawlings at Willow Springs and later for the U.S. Forestry at Willow Springs. He married Patsy Kirkland Sept. 17, 1976. He lived in the Elk Creek area before his health forced his move to the Kabul Nursing Home. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; a daughter, Emily Couch; and his wife, Patsy. Surviving are three children, Lou Cafourek of Pekin, Ill., Everett Jr. of Houston and Paul of California; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services were June 18 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery at West Plains. “
