Leon Hinkle, 73, oldest son of Carl Hinkle and Opal Sillyman Hinkle, was born Nov. 2, 1930. He died July 17, 2004.Mr. Hinkle spent the majority of his life in California with Unocal Oil. He retired in 1993.He and his wife, Sylvia, moved to Ellis Prairie in 1993.He enjoyed sports and music and visiting with family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; daughter, Sarona; and son, Brandon.Surviving are his children, Monte Hinkle of Buena Park, Calif., Brien Hinkle of Las Vegas, Nev., Janella Hinkle of Savannah, Randy and Jerrold Pairish of Lakewood, Calif., sister, Carlene Mayberry of Bucyrus; a brother, Melburn Hinkle of St. Joseph; and his eight grandchildren.Services are 10 a.m. Friday at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Floyd officiating. Burial will be in the Emory Cemetery.Visitation is 6 to 8 o’clock this evening (Thursday) at the Evans chapel. “
