Vina Katherine Gossett, 93, daughter of Marion and Nancy Thompson Keeney, was born Aug. 3, 1910, at Prescott. She died July 9, 2004, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.She was baptized in a Baptist church in 1926.She married Arthur Cantrell in 1936. After his death Oct. 16, 1937, she moved to Lee’s Summit. She married Henry Gossett in 1950. They lived in Independence. Mrs. Gossett moved to Licking in 1978 after retiring as a seamstress for a drapery company. She enjoyed quilting and reading and never missed listening to Cardinal baseball games. She will be remembered for the cakes she made over the years, especially chocolate.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry, June 15, 1968; brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Prier, Nellie Watson, Pearle Platter, Florence Snow, Effie Watson, Bennett Keeney and Herman Keeney.Surviving is a stepdaughter, Linda Bailey of Fullerton, Calif.Services were July 11 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Gifford officiating. Graveside services and burial were July 12 in the Lee’s Summit Cemetery “
