Eleanor Mace Esmond Wenger, 81, daughter of Everett and Annie Elizabeth Mathis Mace, was born Nov. 5, 1922. She died Aug. 29, 2004 at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.She married Leslie Bernie Esmond Aug. 26, 1940, at the Phelps County Courthouse. Judge Light performed the ceremony. The Esmonds have three children.She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son; two sisters, Mildred Helen Mace and Viola Harris; and two brothers, Harvey C. Mace and Orville Henry Mace.She married Ronald Wenger July 3, 1958, at the First Presbyterian Church at Rolla. G. Scott Porter performed the ceremony.The Wengers were baptized Sept. 30, 1990, at the Philadelphia Baptist Church by the Rev. Floyd Pyle. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Edgar Springs.Mrs. Wenger was a member of the Modern Homemakers Club of Edgar Springs and quilting club of Edgar Springs. She enjoyed attending the First Baptist Church in Licking with her friends.She worked at crocheting, knitting and other crafts and make a lot of her own clothes. She worked at Rawlings for 31 years, 12 sewing baseball covers and 19 as an inspector. She retired from Rawlings in December 1984.Surviving are her husband; daughter, Norma Lavern Moshier; son, Leslie Bernie Esmond; sister, Wilma Emogene Williams; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.Services were Aug. 31 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harry Foley officiating. Burial was in the Licking Cemetery. “
