DAVID FRYE

David Edly Frye, 92, son of Samuel Spencer and Lavinia Anne Richardson Frye, was born May 25, 19112, near Oakside. He died Oct. 15, 2004, at Mountain View Healthcare in Mountain View, where he was a resident for the last 13 months.He grew up in the Oakside community.He married Pauline Smotherman Nov. 13, 1941. They had one son and lived in the Summersville area before moving to Mountain View in 1994.Mr. Frye farmed and did sawmill work in his early years.He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Noble, Lloyd, Lee and a twin who died at birth; and one sister, Leree Harsh.Surviving are his wife of Mountain View Healthcare; son, Archie Frye of Spring Hill, La.; stepdaughter, Jean Helton of Summersville; two sisters, Irene “”Babe”” Culpepper of Mountain View and Wanda Samuelson of Des Moines, Iowa; one brother, Bill Frye of Mountain View; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 14-great-great-grandchildren.Services were Oct. 18 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chester Webster officiating. Burial was in the Oakside Cemetery near Summersville. “
