Vena Brown, 81, daughter of James and Sallie Pruitt Manes, was born Oct. 18, 1922. She died Oct. 17, 2004, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.Surviving are two daughtesr, Bernice Boothe of Licking and Ann Colburn of Killeen, Texas; one brother, Elva Manes of Gulfport, Ill.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.Graveside services were Oct. 20 at the Licking Cemetery with Larry Tubbs officiating under the direction of Fox Funeral Home of Licking. “
