Edward “”Ed”” Charles Driesel, 91, son of Charley and Ella Mae Reed Driesel, was born Jan. 28, 1913, at Licking. He died Nov. 25, 2004, at Houston.He married Avo Barton in 1937. They had two children, Shirley Catherine and Eddie Joe. His son died in 1941, and his wife a few months later.He married Ruby Johnson in 1953. They had one daughter, Judy.Mr. Driesel drove for Howerton Trucking for 14 years. In 1955, the family moved to St. Louis, where he worked briefly for Hussman Refrigeration, several years for Westinghouse and for McDonnell Douglas. He retired in 1978 and after living in St. Louis for 22 years, moved back to his hometown of Licking.In addition to his first wife and son, he was preceded in death by his parents; his second wife; one brother, Bill; and two sisters, Bessie Keeney and Ora Barton.Surviving are his daughters, Shirley Bates of Searcy, Ark., and Judy Thoroughman of Licking; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.Graveside services were Nov. 27 at the Boone Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Everett Perkins officiating under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston. “
