Marie Ellen Wichmann Sroaf, 82, died Nov. 3, 2004, at St. Louis.Surviving is a sister, Myrtle Riley of Licking.A memorial service will be held later under the direction of Fox Funeral Home of Licking. Nettie DeSmedtAntoinette “”Nettie”” Helen DeSmedt, 93, youngest of five brothers and three sisters who were the children of August and Catherine Frey Peters, was born June 9, 1911, at Glennonville. She died Nov. 3, 2004, at Bethesda Southgate at St. Louis.She grew up in St. Louis and moved to Dent County.She married Arthur James DeSmedt in 1943. They had two children and lived on a farm at Rhyse.Mrs. DeSmedt was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Salem and a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis.She was preceded in death by her husband; siblings, Edmond, Reinhold, Engelbert, Matlida, Frances, Leo, Johanna and Joseph.Surviving are her children, Paul of Oakville and Mary Hildebrand of Plato; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.Mass was Nov. 6 at St. Vincent DePaul at Roby with Father Joseph Orthel officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery at Salem under the direction of Fox Funeral Home of Licking. “
