Mary Frances Venable Brelsford, 76, daughter of Victor Leroy Holmes and Susie May Williams Holmes, was born March 8, 1928, at Sac City, Iowa. She died Dec. 15, 2004, at Poplar Living Center in Casper, Wyo.She married Edgar R. Venable Dec. 3, 1947, in Casper, Wyo. He died in 1969.Mrs. Brelsford was an early day telephone operator before direct dial phones were in Casper. She was also a switchboard operator for Natrona County Memorial Hospital, Mobil Oil Co. and The Superior Oil Co.She married H. Gale Brelsford Aug. 21, 1976. They moved to Big Piney, Wyo, and retired to Paige and Sun City, Ariz., where she enjoyed playing golf, gardening and growing roses.In 1992, they moved to Story, Wyo., where she spent time fishing and visiting with family and friends at their creek-side cabin.Over the years, she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Shriner’s Club, The Story Garden Club and the Casper Senior Center.In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her second husband in 1998; sisters, Florence Tomlinson and Doris Curry; two infant brothers; and a stepdaughter, Mickey Phelps.Surviving are her daughter, Vickie Venable Evans of Casper, Wyo.; stepdaughter, Gayla O’Hare of Fort Myers, Fla.; stepson, Michael Brelsford of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Naomi Bever of Cabool and several grandchildren.At her request, no services were held. In her honor, take a senior to lunch at a senior center or visit residents of senior care facilities. “
