Albert Guy “”Al”” Lindsey, 74, son of Paul S. Lindsey Sr. and Lois Carolyn Barr Lindsey, was born Dec. 4, 1930, at Dixon. He died Feb. 23, 2005, at his home at Cabool following intense treatments for cancer.He married Faye E. Unruh of Greensburg, Kan., Nov. 7, 1954.After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Mr. Lindsey worked for the Rock Island Railroad. He was employed for more than 20 years as a cathodic protection engineer for Northern Natural Gas Co. in Hugoton, Kan. In 1982, he and his wife became owners of Red Top Gas in Cabool. Later adding Tri-County Gas Co. in Mountain Grove and Garstang Gas in Belle.He served as president of the Cabool Chamber of Commerce and president of the Missouri Propane Gas Association.He enjoyed flying his airplane and operating his parents’ farm at Dixon.He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cabool.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Helen Kathryn.Surviving are his wife; two sons, Art and Steve Lindsey; two sisters, Lois Hendricks and Jean Simmons of Cordova, Tenn.; one brother, Paul S. Lindsey Jr. of Lebanon; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Services were Feb. 26 at the First Baptist Church in Cabool with the Rev. Granville Watson officiating. Burial with graveside services were at the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Blocks Together Fund, P.O.
