Andrew Jackson “”Andy”” Carter, 37, son of Harvey Ben Carter and Bonnie Lou Jackson Carter, was born Jan. 1, 1968, at Houston. He died Feb. 17, 2005, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.He graduated from Houston High School in 1986 and served four years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Fort Richardson, Alaska. He was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for rescuing victims Jan. 29, 1989, from a Canadian C-130 crash at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.After returning home in 1990, he worked on the family farm at Bucyrus.Mr. Carter was baptized Oct. 15, 1978, at the First Baptist Church in Houston. He rededicated his life to Christ Feb. 16, 2005.He enjoyed bowling and bowled four perfect 300 games. His name is in the St. Louis Hall of Fame of Bowlers.Surviving is his mother of Bucyrus.Services were Feb. 19 at the First Baptist Church in Houston with the Rev. Shelly Zook officiating. Burial was in the Jackson Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to Carter Field Little League Baseball. “
