Carol Sue Lay, 64, daughter of Harry Lee and Claudia Johnston, died Feb. 25, 2005, at her home at Raymondville.She married Lonnie Dean Lay March 9, 1959. They had three children.Mrs. Lay was active in the United Methodist Church at Raymondville, the Blue Heaven Club and the WSCS group at her church.She and her husband owned and operated Embroidery Your Way in Houston.She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Roy “”Chick”” Johnston; and daughter, Patti Counts.Surviving are her husband of the home; daughter, Sheri Layton of Farmington; son, Keith Lay of Farmington; brother, Harry Lee of Fulton; sisters, Patricia Hicks of Houston and Gayle Saylor of El Dorado, Ark.; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Services were Feb. 28 at the United Methodist Church in Raymondville with the Rev. Gary Carter officiating. Burial was in the Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston.Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Raymondville. “
