Dwain B. Wade, 61, son of Howard Wade and Neva Wade, was born March 13, 1944, at Manes. He died March 20, 2005, at his home at Salem.He grew up in the Roubidoux Creek area and graduated from Houston High School. He was a member of the Clara Baptist Church.Mr. Wade was a dedicated barrel racer and promoted his love of horsemanship as an avid 4-H supporter and saddle club member. He was a skilled carpenter and worked for Gentry Construction for three decades.He was preceded in death by his father; son, Chad Wade; and two beloved horses, Gold and Luke.Surviving are his wife, Ivy, and special son, James Combs, of the home near Salem; his mother of Houston; two sons, Shane of Houston and Larry of Bucyrus; two stepdaughters, Aneta Atkinson of Salem and Christina Northrup of St. Louis; one sister, Joan Cox of Lee’s Summit; eight grandchildren, two great-granddaughters and a special horse, Blue.Services were March 23 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel in Licking with the Rev. David Gidcumb officiating. Burial was in the Brown Hill Cemetery near Houston. “
