Eugene “”Gene”” Glenn, 80, youngest of nine children of John and Eliza Glenn, was born Feb. 23, 1925, at Bentonville, Ark. He died April 30, 2005, at the Kabul Nursing Home following a long illness.He enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving from 1946 to 1947.He married Goldie Means June 15, 1946. They had six children.The Glenns traveled a lot when they were young, They had made their home in Cabool for many years, where he was a carpenter.Mr. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1994; and all of his siblings.Surviving are his children, Barbara Wade and Tony Glenn of Mountain Grove, Earl Glenn of Caldwell, Idaho, Phyllis Graves of Liberty Hill, Texas, and Steven Glenn and Shirley Smith of Cabool; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.Services were May 3 at the Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Purichia officiating. Burial was in the Springfield National Cemetery. “
