Ruth Margaret Tappero, 94, daughter of Charles and Bessie Wallace Davis, was born April 24, 1911, at Houston. She died May 1, 2005, at Houston House Nursing Center in Houston.She graduated from Houston High School in 1929 and later married Norval Moberly. They had two children. Her husband died in 1954 and her daughter, Norma Jane, Sept. 5, 1948.She later married Joseph Tappero who died Aug. 26, 1986.Mrs. Tappero worked at Fort Leonard Wood, retiring in 1972. After retirement, she was active in civic affairs.She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Houston, where she was general secretary of the Sunday school for several years. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, on the board of the senior citizens housing and a volunteer with the Texas County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.Her hobbies were working crossword puzzles and in her flowers.In addition to her husbands and daughter, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Wayne, Wesley, Willard and Chester Davis; and one sister, Eula Hays.Surviving are her son, Wesley Deane Moberly of Redding, Calif.; three sisters, Alice Barton of Fullerton, Calif., Lou Kershner of Highland Ranch, Colo., and Jean Hays of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one granddaughter and two great-grandsons.Services were May 7 at the First Baptist Church in Houston with the Rev. Ben Gard and the Rev. Harold Bruening officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. “
