Wilbur F. Mobley Sr., 86, son of Clifford and Lottie McFarron Mobley, was born Nov. 24, 1918, at Topeka, Kan. He died April 18, 2005, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.He served in the U.S. Army from 1940 until 1945. While in the Army, he was on a transport shop in the Pacific, returned home and went back overseas to serve in Germany under General Patton’s platoon, going across the Rhine as a gunnery on the 2nd tank battalion.He married Pauline K. Jones April 12, 1941.Mr. Mobley loved sports and enjoyed volunteering as a clown and working in the theater.He was baptized in 1948 in a Baptist church in Little Rock, Ark. He taught Sunday school for 40 years and worked in the bus ministry for 23 years.He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Licking, Painters and Decorators Local #1594 and Licking Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6337.He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.Surviving are his wife of the home; children, Wilbur James Mobley of Carthage, Dr. Wilbur F. Mobley Jr. of Licking, Ronald Lee Mobley of Hawaii and Paully Dian Pittman of Independence; one sister, Betty of Topeka, Kan.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.Memorial services are 2 o’clock Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Licking with Dr. Wilbur Mobley Jr. officiating. Arrange-ments are under the direction of Fox Funeral Home. “
