James “”Jim”” Benjamin Siegel, 80, son of Ralph and Mary Libby Siegel, was born May 3, 1925, at Princeton. He died May 23, 2005, at his home in Houston.He entered the Army Air Force in December 1945 and retired from military duty as a senior master sergeant in 1973. He served as a weather forecaster and was sent to Spain and Indochina during his tour of duty.He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Air Force Longevity Service Award.Mr. Siegel attended Bellevue College, graduating with a bachelor’s degree.He was a security guard for the Sisters of Mercy in Omaha, Neb., before retiring. He drove a school bus, retiring after 11 years with the district.He enjoyed bluegrass music and dancing, reading, spending time fishing and working with his flowers.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Oscar; and one sister, Mary Beth Bucy.Surviving are his wife, Dona, of the home; several stepsons and stepdaughters; and one sister, Rebecca Sunberg.Services were May 25 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Belva Tarrant officiating. Burial is in the West Lawn-Hillcrest Cemetery at Omaha, Neb., after a 1 p.m. service Friday at the Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak and Cutler Mortuary of Omaha, Neb. “
