V. Lorene Cole Johnston, 74, daughter of Jasper C. Cole and Effie Isabell Holland Cole, was born Jan. 5, 1931, at Montauk. She died May 20, 2005, at her home near Raymondville.She married her childhood sweetheart, “”John”” Alvin F. Johnston Jr. April 10, 1948.Mrs. Johnston was saved at an early age. She loved her sisters, home, yard and grandson that she helped raise.She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years; her parents; one brother, Jack Cole; and one sister, Molly Dawson.Surviving are two sons, Paul D. Johnston Sr. of Kenosha, Wis., and Bobby G. Johnston Sr. of the home; three sisters, Ella Burns, Irene Nelson and Carlene Medlock; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.Services were May 22 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Nixon officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery. “
