Charles L. Hill, 78, son of C.W. and Bertha Emmons Hill, was born Feb. 7, 1927, near Licking. He died June 19, 2005, at his home at Licking.Mr. Hill served in the U.S. Army during World War II from June 23, 1945, to Dec. 10, 1946. He served with the 57th Field Hospital and was stationed in Germany. He received the Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal in Germany.He married Ethel Stark Nov. 18, 1948. They had two children.Mr. Hill enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting with his son, Dennis.He was a painter with the Civil Service at Fort Leonard Wood, retiring after 35 years.He was preceded in death by five brothers, one sister and his parents.Surviving are his wife of the home; son, Dennis of Selma, Ala.; daughter, Jill Hill Smith of Morrrilton, Ark.; one brother, Glenn Hill of Fairfield, Iowa; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.Services were June 23 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Van Cleve Cemetery at Licking. “
