Edward Erwin Posey, 82, son of Quintus and Katie Simmons Posey, was born Dec. 7, 1922, on a farm near Memphis, Texas. He died June 14, 2005, at his home at Houston.He was a World War II veteran and worked as a heavy haul rigger, driver and mechanic for J.A. Robinson and E.L. Beakley of Borger, Texas, until starting a welding business at Borger.He later moved to Cabool as partner and manager of Ozark Ranches for several years. He was a rancher near Houston until his retirement in 1996.Surviving are his wife, Eloise, of the home; four children, Gary Posey, Roland Posey and Sondra Bass of Amarillo, Texas, and John Tate of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Wanda Posey Phillips of Memphis, Texas; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.Services were June 17 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Maurice Allen officiating. Burial was June 18 at the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at Borger Texas. “
