Mary Ruth Patterson, 88, daughter of Joab Dyer and Gracie Eunice Babcock Dyer, was born Jan. 28, 1917, at Alley. She died June 4, 2005, at Houston House Nursing Center.She married Artie Vester Patterson Sept. 14, 1931. They had three children.Mrs. Patterson worked at the Angelica Uniform factory for many years and helped on the family farm.She loved the outdoors, growing vegetables and making quilts, giving them to family and selling to others.She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brothers, Glen, Shelby and Bill; one sister, Helen; three grandchildren and two great-grandsons.Surviving are her children, Donna Mae Siegel of Houston, Gene Patterson of Summersville and Eunice Boyer of Sedalia; two sisters, Mabel Wilkins of Summersville and Avis Swiney Rayfield of Eminence; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.Services were June 8 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel in Summersville with the Rev. Albert Steelman officiating. Burial was in the Summersville City Cemetery. “
