Eula Faye James Kirkpatrick, 79, the oldest of three children of Hurley Oscar and Altha Della Routh James, was born June 25, 1926, at Plato. She died July 10, 2005, at her home at Houston.As a young woman, she played the guitar and sang with her family at church and family gatherings.She married Ernest McWilliams. They had one daughter and lived in a farm house, where she cooked on a wood stove.Her greatest joy was caring for her grandchildren, while their mother worked, until they became school age. She loved fishing and taking her grandchildren for picnics and exploring along Big Creek, baby-sitting for Alyssa and Elizabeth Hayes, spending time with her extended family and caring for her flowers.She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Herbert James.Surviving are her daughter, Loetta Sutton of Houston; a sister, Edith Atkinson of Marshfield; and two grandchildren.Memorial services were July 13 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating.Memorials may be made to Hospice of Care. “
