Betty Lee LaMontine, 81, daughter of John G. and Anna Gettler Schilll, was born May 13, 1924, at Newton, Kan. She died Aug. 19, 2005, at her home at Houston.She married Leon LaMontine. They had two children.Mrs. LaMontine worked several years at Leavitt’s Dept. Store.She was known as Granny Betty and loved serving in her church, St. Mark’s Catholic Church, where she was involved in many activities. She enjoyed working in her yard, growing flowers, cooking for her family and visiting the casinos at Tunica.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; one son, Daryl; and a granddaughter.Surviving are her daughter, Bonnie Cochran of Raymondville; two brothers, Leon “”Ed”” Schill of Houston and Joe Schill of Pueblo, Colo.; one grandchild, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.Services were Aug. 23 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Allen Cemetery. “
