Donald Keith Kruse, 64, son of John and Alice Miller Kruse, was born April 19, 1941, at Emery, S.D. He died Aug. 23, 2005, at Lester E. Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.The Kruse family moved to Missouri shortly after his birth. He graduated from Licking High School in 1959.He married Shirley June Britton Sept. 24, 1960, at Edgar Springs. They moved to Houston in 1965, and he eventually opened a real estate company.Mr. Kruse was active in the community, where he was a member of the Lions Club, chamber of commerce, Texas County Lodge, Masons, Scottish Rites and served on the city council. He took great joy in getting children accepted into the Shriners Hospital. As a businessman, he served on the Ozark Board of Realtors.He accepted the Lord at an early age and grew up in the Boone Creek Baptist Church. He later became a member of the First Baptist Church in Houston, where he was a deacon and served the church in several areas.Surviving are his wife of 45 years of the home in Houston; two daughters, Cindy Lambe of Harrison, Ark., and Marsha Campbell of Katy, Texas; two brothers, Dewayne Kruse of Houston and Elden Kruse of Hazelwood; and seven grandchildren.Services were Aug. 27 at the First Baptist Church in Houston with the Rev. Ben Gard and the Rev. Mike Yelton officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Houston. “
