Ruby Mae Miller Senter, 81, was born March 20, 1924, at Bartlesville, Okla. She died Aug. 7, 2005, at Cabool. She had been a resident of the Kabul Nursing Home for the past few months.She was raised by Dolly and Clarence Miller in Oklahoma City. She spent much of her teen years in the home of Mable Gilchrist, who had a positive influence on her life.After moving to the Montauk area, she graduated from Licking High School in 1943.After graduation, she went to St. Louis to work for the Sunnen Co., where she met Ray Senter. They were married Jan. 23, 1942, and had four children.When her husband joined the U.S. Navy, the Senters moved to Port Townsend, Wash. After his discharge, they moved to the Montauk area in Dent County and operated a dairy farm. Mrs. Senter also drove a school bus for a few years.In 1960, they moved to Licking, and she and the children operated Senter’s Country Store while Mr. Senter worked in construction and later at Fort Leonard Wood.In the early 1970s, Mrs. Senter and Fairy Stone owned and operated a floral shop in Licking.After Mr. Senter’s retirement, the couple spent their time selling their ceramics and enjoying bluegrass music. They later sold their home at Licking and moved to the Landmark Villa at Cabool.She was preceded in death by her husband.Surviving are four children, Carol Murphy of Springfield, Bill Senter of Plato, Tom Senter of Hartville and Bob Senter of Castalian Springs, Tenn.; one brother, Billy Crawford of California; one sister, Darlene Doty of Des Moines, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.Services were Aug. 10 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel in Licking with Larry Tubbs officiating. Burial was in the Licking Cemetery. “
