Delbert G. Fredrick, 86, son of Denver and Bonnie Shipp Fredrick, was born Dec. 22, 1918, at Yukon. He died Oct. 23, 2005, at Alliance Community Hospital in Alliance, Ohio, after suffering with Alzheimer’s.He graduated from Mansfield High School and worked for American Steel Foundries in Alliance for 60 years, retiring in 1983.He married Vivian Pearl Walker April 12, 1941.He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he had served on the board of trustees, was a member of the Fireside Sunday school class and treasurer emeritus.He was a member of Conrad Masonic Lodge #271 and Order of Eastern Star chapter #296. He was a former member of the Alliance Kiwanis, Octagon Club, Marlington High School Band Boosters and a past president.He enjoyed bowling, golf and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.He volunteered preparing tax returns at the Alliance Senior Citizens Center and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sept. 22, 2003; and one sister, Eva Lee King.Surviving are one son, James Fredrick of Broadview Heights, Ohio; one daughter, Marianne Michna of Louisville, Ohio; caregiver, Watsna Rosia of North Canton, Ohio; three sisters, Betty Clayton of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mary Lenn Nash of Salem and Peggy Cochran of Springfield; and five grandchildren.Services were Oct. 27 at the First Baptist Church of Alliance with the Rev. Gordon Thomas officiating. Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park under the direction of Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home of Alliance, Ohio.Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1659 W.
