Roy Eugene Keeney, 65, son of Bennett and Gladys Hayes Keeney, was born March 25, 1940, at Prescott. He died Oct. 5, 2005, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center at Joplin.When he was younger, he took walks with his daughters through the tree nursery at Licking. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Lonnie Keeney.Surviving are two daughters, Betty Taylor of Republic and Patty Johnson of Washburn; two sisters, Dorothy Lotz and Kathy Ryno of Licking; three brothers, M.B. Keeney of Rolla, Charles Keeney of Licking and Garry Keeney of Houston; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.Services were Oct. 8 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Hamilton officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery. “
