ELSIE MATCHELL

Elsie Mae Matchell, 79, daughter of Vincil and Pearl Vance Beck, was born Dec. 26, 1925, at St. Louis. She died Nov. 12, 2005, after a battle with Parkinson’s disease.She married George Thomas Matchell Jan. 15, 1946. They had six children.In addition to raising her children, she worked for several years at the George O. White Nursery and retired from Texas County Health Care Center in Licking.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years, two brothers and one sister.Surviving are three daughters, Diane Vestal and Becky Garrett of Licking and Linda West of Houston; three sons, George Thomas Matchell Jr. of Louisville, Ky., Michael Matchell of Springfield and Steven Matchell of Columbia; brother, Warren Beck of Steelville; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.Services were Nov. 15 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel in Licking with the Rev. Robert Gifford officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery. “
