George Andy Oliver Walker, 58, son of Jessie and Ruby Shepherd Walker, was born June 25, 1947, at Licking. He died Nov. 29, 2005.He married Sharon Gene Scarson Feb. 21, 1970, at Honolulu, Hawaii. They had three children.Mr. Walker joined the U.S. Navy in 1968, where he received a Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and National Defense Service Medal.After discharge, he returned to Licking with his family.He was an avid fisherman and loved being on the river.He was an active member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Andy and Edith Walker; and maternal grandparents, Oliver and Lucy Shepherd.Surviving are his wife of the home; three children, George Ronald Paul Walker, Sherry Marie Edwards and Billie Jo Sims of Licking; his mother of Licking; two brothers, Jimmie Walker and Johnnie Walker of Licking; and six grandchildren.Services were Dec. 2 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with David Jeff officiating. Burial with full military honors was in the Patterson Cemetery. “
