Clell Maurice Allen, 72, son of Clell Mitchell Allen and Bertha Clyde Johnson Allen, was born Nov. 26, 1933, at Summersville. He died Dec. 21, 2005, at his home near Summersville.He married Waneta Lucille Bryson Sept. 2, 1952. They had five children.Mr. Allen accepted Christ as his Savior at a revival at the Stallman school house when he was about 13 years of age. He was baptized and became a member of the First Baptist Church of Summersville.He surrendered to the ministry in 1973 and was ordained in 1974. He was a bi-vocational pastor for 32 years, pastoring Baptist churches in the surrounding area including Pea Ridge, Ellis Prairie, Eunice and Central for 18 years, continuing until his health would no longer permit.He did interim work at various churches including the First Baptist Church of Summersville.In 1964, he went into business with Don Burch at Houston TV and Appliance in Houston, continuing until 1978, when he and his wife purchased the partnership from Mr. Burch. The Allens continued to operate the business until 1994. He enjoyed electronics and was a ham radio operator for about 40 years.He was preceded in death by his parents.Surviving are his wife of the home; sons, Michael of Bella Vista, Ark., and Larry and Gary of Summersville; daughters, Connie Lightner of Rogers, Ark., and Amy Jo Adkison of Houston; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.Services were Dec. 24 at the First Baptist Church in Summersville with the Rev. Edward Hamilton and the Rev. Kendall Ford officiating. Burial was in the Oakside Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home. “
