Wilma Verna Day, 82, daughter of Elmer and Estella Ward Bridges, was born Sept. 25, 1923, at Houston. She died Dec. 16, 2005, at Rolla Manor Care Nursing Home.She attended school at Houston, became a member of the First Baptist Church at a young age and attended Spring Creek Baptist Church at Rolla in her later years.She married Jesse Allen Day Aug. 19, 1942. They lived at Rolla, and she worked at various Rolla factories. She is remembered for her lovely singing voice as a young woman and her talents in drawing, painting and crocheting.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Vergil Bridges; and two sisters, Mildred Adams and Norma Tyler.Surviving are a sister, Wava of Burlington, Colo.; and two brothers, Marvin Bridges of Springfield and Cloyd Bridges of Elsberry.Services were Dec. 19 with the Rev. Mike Gorman officiating under the direction of James and Gahr Mortuary of Rolla. Burial was in the Ozark Memorial Gardens at Rolla. “
