Mary Elizabeth Lindsey, 93, daughter of Sterling Price Lindsey and Anna A. Jordan Lindsey, was born July 24, 1912, at Corning, Ark. She died Jan. 8, 2006, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.Ms. Lindsey earned her master’s degree and taught elementary school in Florida, California, Cabool and West Plains, where she retired.She appreciated music and enjoyed playing the piano, taking private lessons while in her 80s.She and her sister, Loraine, lived together for several years before moving to assisted living last October. Both suffered from macular degeneration. The ladies enjoyed traveling, making several trips to foreign counties and around the United States.She enjoyed flowers and had an extensive rose garden and lilies of all kinds.She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma teachers’ sorority, Cabool Art Club and Study Club.In spite of failing eyesight, she continued to mail encouragement cards in behalf of the Cabool Christian Church Women’s Council.She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Paul and Jordan.Surviving are her sister, Loraine F. Lindsey; and brother, Bob.Services were Jan. 11 at the Cabool Christian Church with Bob Martin officiating. Burial was in the Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.Memorials may be made to the Cabool Christian Church, P.O. Box 318, Cabool, Mo. 65689. “
