Alvie Ward Keaton, 67, son of Earl Monroe and Nola June Lane Keaton, was born Oct. 21, 1939, on a Piney River farm near Big Piney. He died Feb. 9, 2007, at Licking Park Manor Nursing Home.

He married Carolyn Brown in 1962. They had one child.

Mr. Keaton worked in road construction in his early years and at Rawlings Sporting Goods for many years. Farming, attending livestock auctions and square dancing were his favorite pastimes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Norman Dale.

Surviving are one son, Robert Edward Keaton of Springfield; two brothers, Don of Licking and Fred of Edgar Springs; and one sister, Geneva of Williamsburg.

Services were Feb. 11 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip McGuire officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery.
