Florence Lucille Pugh, 85, daughter of George and Gladys Henry Potter, was born June 30, 1921, at Quay, Okla. She died Feb. 19, 2007, at her home at Cabool.
Mrs. Pugh lived most of her life in the Cabool area, moving from Berryville, Ark., to a farm at Sargent in the late ’30s.
She married Forrest Pugh of Cabool in 1940. They had one son.
A graduate of the Cabool Schools, she retired from Brown Shoe Co. after 30 years.
She enjoyed fishing and gardening in her later years with her friend, Bill Christie of Houston.
She was known for her strong Democrat political convictions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sisters, Mary Lavery, Dorothy Sandberg and Elaine Puckett; and one brother, David Potter.
Surviving are her son, Forrest “Doc” Pugh of Cabool; sister, Marjorie Helterbrand; four granddaughters and six great-grandsons.
Private graveside services were at the Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
A memorial service is planned at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Mountain Grove or a charity of the donor’s choice.
