Robert Edgar Price, 70, son of Edgar Leo Price and Blanche Agee Price VanDeusen, was born May 29, 1936, at Raymondville. He died Feb. 5, 2007, at the Martinsville, Ind., hospital after a four-month battle with lung cancer.
He was a 1953 graduate of Houston High School. After graduation, he served with the U.S. Army 319th Airborn Division during the Korean War.
A retired contractor, Mr. Price lived and worked in Colorado several years before returning to Texas County in the ’60s. He moved to Indiana in the ’70s and lived at Morgantown, Ind.
He was a member of the Raymondville Baptist Church and the Licking Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Beatrice Ryan, Sheila Ramsbottom and Charlotte VanDeusen.
Surviving are his wife, Venza, of the home; four daughters, Robyn Collins of Marshall, Paige Clark of Goodlettsville, Tenn., Kelly Hutsell of Houston and Shelly Hoskins of Martinsville, Ind.; two sons, Byron Price of Brownsville, Ind., and Mark Price of Ohio; three sisters, Barbara Burkhart of Orlando, Fla., and Blanche Archer and Georgia Maxwell of Jamesport; one brother, Jerry Price of Dennison, Texas; a stepbrother, Larry VanDeusen of Licking; stepsister, Shirley Umfleet of Edgar Springs; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were Feb. 9 at the Costin Funeral Home Chapel in Martinsville, Ind., with burial in the Antioch Cemetery at Bloomfield, Ind.
