Erna Marie Rosenfelt, 88, daughter of Edward and Christine Schwaderer, was born Oct. 15, 1918, at Alliance, Neb. She died March 16, 2007, at Houston House Nursing Center

She married Cecil Rosenfelt Feb. 28, 1942, at Alliance, Neb. They had three children and farmed in Nebraska and Idaho before moving to Missouri November 1951. They purchased land in the Upton area, where they had a dairy farm.

Mrs. Rosenfelt enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, tending her flowers and quilting with friends and neighbors.

She was raised in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Houston for 30 years. In her later years, she enjoyed riding the church van and showing off her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; one brother, Arthur “Shorty” Schwaderer; and an infant grandson.

Surviving are her children, Judy Ann Rossignol of Mountain Grove, Larry Joe Rosenfelt of Kansas City and Shirley Lea Best of Houston; sisters, Bertha Rosenfelt of Scottsbluff, Neb., and Florein McCart of Alliance, Neb.; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services were March 19 at the United Methodist Church in Houston with the Rev. Bob Moger officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
