Frankie Eugene Barnett, 61, son of James Frank Barnett and Alice Marie Duncan Barnett, was born June 22, 1945, at Summersville. He died March 4, 2007, at his home after a battle with cancer.
Over the years, he owned several service businesses in Summersville and in St. Louis. He also worked for Atlas Tool, Grand Manufacture, A-Rack, Williams Bus line and operated the ferry at Owls Bend – Powder Mill Ferry. His last employment was with Imperial Charcoal at Summersville.
He enjoyed his family and friends, taking care of the cattle, horses, bush hogging and the daily routine farm work.
He was preceded in death by his father; three brothers, James Cleo Barnett and two infants, Sherman Dean Barnett and Donald Eugene Barnett; a granddaughter and stepson, Bryan Stewart.
Surviving are his mother of Summersville; children, Frankie Barnett of St. Louis, Crystal Barnett of Summersville and Linda Pinckard of Colorado; stepchildren, Tim and Larry Fox and Tina Ketcherside of St. Louis; two sisters, Carol Basham of Hillsboro and Evelyn Barnett Wells of Rolla; one brother, David Barnett of Summersville; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were March 7 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel in Summersville with the Rev. Gary Steelman and the Rev. Tommy Boyd officiating. Burial was in the Barnett Cemetery.
