Jean Smith Kinyon, 74, daughter of Seth and Allie Manship Smith, was born Jan. 29, 1933, at Mingo, Iowa. She died March 8, 2007, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Mrs. Kinyon moved in 1942 to rural Nevada, Iowa, attending Shipley School, where she graduated in 1951.

She married Ralph Kinyon June 3, 1951. They had four children.

Mrs. Kinyon enjoyed reading and working on puzzles.

Surviving are her husband of Warsaw; two sons, Dennis Kinyon of Edward and Mitchell Kinyon of Bolivar; two daughters, Cherie Kinyon of Houston and Debbie Courter of Fair Play; two brothers, Seth Smith of Roswell, N.M., and Duane Smith of Ames, Iowa; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were March 10 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Miller officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery.
