Bessie Nadine Grose Sigman, 97, daughter of Archie and Ida Grose, was born Feb. 16, 1910, at Winona. She died March 31, 2007, at her home in Cabool.
Mrs. Sigman taught school for 32 years, first on one room buildings and for the Cabool School District.
She married Earl Sigman Nov. 3, 1943. They had four children.
At the age of 12, she gave her life to Christ and was active in church for 85 years. She taught children from preschool age to young adults. Mrs. Sigman and her husband were charter members of the Maness Memorial Baptist Church. At the time of her death, she was a charter member of the Cabool Second Baptist Church.
She enjoyed gardening, visiting with friends, teaching, traveling and quilt making.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years; her parents; three sisters, Cleo Hamilton, Ruby Grose and Velma McCart; and one brother, Doyle Grose and a stillborn infant.
Surviving are her children, Verl Sigman of Elk Creek, Joan Powers of Kerrville, Texas, Sharon Epperson of Columbia and Janet Lippert of Cabool; best friend, Becky Mayberry of Cabool; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild.
Services were April 4 at the Cabool Second Baptist Church with the Rev. David Purichia officiating. Burial was in the Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
Memorials may be made to the Cabool Second Baptist Church building fund.
